Only a few years ago I was on the brink of crumbling under stress caused by pressure in my personal and professional life
I felt very up and down, a bit lost and stuck.
Don’t get me wrong, I was functioning, going to work every day and getting stuff done. But I just wasn’t happy.
At the time I felt like everyone else was happy and moving forward in life, and I wasn’t.
Even things like socializing or getting organized can seem like hard work when you’re in a negative place like this.
This can result in low self-confidence, a lack of motivation, procrastination, and poor decision making. I know because I suffered from all of this
In work I became insecure. I felt like I was about to get “caught out”, like I wasn’t good enough.
In my personal life I wasn’t happy with my looks. I avoided going out with friends and was uncomfortable meeting new people.
I used to compare myself to other women all the time, and I was afraid of criticism, rejection, failure and being embarrassed.
I was totally deflated and had no idea what to do to make things better.
Even though I left lonely at the time, now I know I’m not the only person to have gone through something like this.
